Friends!

I am a little behind on my blogging! I have been trying to get out everyday and enjoy our last few weeks in London before we are headed back to the States.  I am going to try to get you up to speed up until now.... but we will see! As I have Pilates soon!

Last weekend, we were so fortunate to have friends come visit us! They arrived Saturday evening and left Monday morning.  It was a quick trip for them, but we were able to show them everything that you would want to see in London! We had a busy day on Sunday, but it was great to see the sights again... get lots of pictures... and make memories with some friends!

On Saturday, we met them at the train station after their flight, took them to our flat to freshen up and put their stuff away, made a game plan for the weekend, and headed out in the rain towards Kensington Palace.  Since Kensington Palace was out of the way of the other sights, we decided to go there at night, then have dinner at a pub so they could get the typical British food, and then call it a night to get ready for our busy Sunday.

We took lots of pictures by the typical red London telephone booths... this one is right on our street!
T and Michael in the pub by our house... T has been wanting to go there and every time we go, its so busy that we can't get in.  Well, today was our lucky day!
Jessica and I in front of Kensington Palace
They got the true London experience.... IN THE RAIN!

After fish and chips and club sandwiches, we headed back to our flat, pumped up the air mattress that kept deflating, and snuggled up inside our little flat!

Sunday morning, hoping for no rain, we quickly got up and got ready for our day.  Unfortunately, we had to wear our rain jackets and boots, because yes, it rained most of the day! T and I have honestly not had a ton of pouring rain.  I have only had to wear my boots twice, but I definitely wore them the whole weekend they were here.  I guess they brought the rain! It wasn't too bad though... we were able to see everything, even in the stormy weather.
We visited Big Ben
And Parliament

Then Westminister Abbey
Then Buckingham Palace

We waited in the rain for the changing of the guards at Buckingham Palace
We watched the changing of the guards

We saw the Shakespeare Globe Theatre
Took pictures in front of the Tower Bridge with the cool Olympic Rings
Saw the WW2 Battleship
They visited the Tower of London while we went to a pub and watched the finals of Wimbledon

Sunday night, we went to the London Eye
It is a huge Ferris Wheel that goes very slow and takes 30 minutes to get around... you can see really neat views of everything in London

Finally, a picture of the 4 of us!
 Inside the London Eye

 Yes, it was still raining!
The pretty London Eye at night

We had such a fun time and were so happy to enjoy London with friends! Thanks so much for coming to visit us! We hope you had a great time! See you in a few short weeks when we return to America!!
